This Privacy Policy explains how Wisewood International Trading FZCO and Wisewood Srl (together, “Wisewood”, “we”, “us”) collect, use, and protect personal data when you visit wisewoodint.com or contact us through this website.

1. Data controllers

Two entities act as joint data controllers, depending on the jurisdiction most closely connected with the interaction:

Wisewood Srl — registered office in Italy, the Italian operating company of the group.

For any privacy-related question you can contact us at privacy@wisewoodint.com.

2. What data we process

We only process data that you actively provide to us, plus a minimal set of technical data needed to deliver and secure the website.

  • Identity and contact data you submit through the contact form or by email (name, company, business email address, message content).
  • Technical data automatically collected by our hosting provider for security and reliability (IP address, user-agent, request timestamp, status codes), retained for short periods in server logs.
  • Cookie and consent data stored locally in your browser (see our Cookie Policy).

3. Why we process your data

  • To respond to your inquiries and provide the information or quote you requested.
  • To carry out and document business communications related to a current or prospective commercial relationship.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the website.
  • To comply with legal, accounting, and tax obligations applicable to our entities.

4. Legal basis (GDPR)

When EU data protection law applies, we rely on the following legal bases under Article 6 GDPR:

  • Performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Our legitimate interest in running our business, communicating with prospects and clients, and protecting our website (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Compliance with legal obligations to which we are subject (Art. 6(1)(c)).
  • Your consent for non-essential cookies and similar technologies (Art. 6(1)(a)).

5. How we share data

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with carefully selected service providers acting as processors on our behalf, and with authorities when required by law.

  • Hosting and content delivery: Vercel Inc. (United States, with EU edge regions).
  • Email and productivity: Google Workspace.
  • Search engine submission services that we use to inform search engines of new content (no personal data is shared).

6. International transfers

Some of our providers are based outside the European Economic Area or the UAE. When personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards required by applicable law, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and equivalent UAE mechanisms.

7. Data retention

  • Inquiries received via the contact form or email: kept for the time needed to handle the request and, where a commercial relationship begins, for the duration of that relationship plus the periods required by tax and accounting law.
  • Server logs: typically up to 30 days, longer only if needed to investigate a security incident.
  • Consent records: kept for the duration of your consent and for a reasonable period afterwards to demonstrate compliance.

8. Your rights

Subject to the conditions set by applicable law, you have the right to access your data, ask for rectification or deletion, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent at any time, and request portability. You can exercise these rights by writing to privacy@wisewoodint.com.

  • EU/EEA users have the right to lodge a complaint with their national supervisory authority, in particular the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali in Italy.
  • UAE users have the right to refer matters to the UAE Data Office under Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021.

9. Security

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including HTTPS encryption in transit, access controls, and selection of vendors that maintain recognized security standards.

10. Children

This website is intended for business users. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Updates to this policy
